ABOUT THE ARTIST
Eclipseye is a Russia-born, UK-based rising artist whose latest single, ‘Hymn of Hypocrisy (Rap Comedy)’, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! Having always had a keen interest in poetry since an early age, Eclipseye’s career began back in 2016 at a poetry Coffeeshop event. Recognizing his lyrical talent, the young rapper went on to release a number of tracks under a different pseudonym before taking a break from the music industry to refine his artistic style and image.
Eclipseye has now returned to the streaming scene with his new release ‘Hymn of Hypocrisy (Rap Comedy)’ and is beginning to build momentum once again. Eclipseye is a rising international artist based in the UK, whose latest single, ‘Whap Clatter’, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! Recognizing his lyrical talent from an early age, Eclipseye launched his career in 2016 at a poetry Coffeshop event, where-after the young rapper went on to release a number of tracks under a different pseudonym before taking a break from the music industry to refine his artistic style and image. His reemergence onto the music scene saw his single ‘Hymn of Hypocrisy (Rap Comedy)’, which “criticizes the UK government for a number of political controversies”, gain serious online traction, amassing almost fortythree thousand streams on Spotify alone since its release earlier this year.
Having now turned his attention to subject matter close to home for his latest single, the songwriter from a Russian immigrant background directs his unique insight into the ongoing Ukrainian conflict “from both sides of the iron curtain”. “...it was my first-hand experience translating for Ukrainian refugees that really sparked inspiration for this release.” Eclipseye's ominously prophetic ‘Whap Clatter’ was recorded just a few months prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and stands to serve as a “statement against war mongering, achieved through the lyrical exploration of pretences, impacts and ultimately aftermath of war, driving us ever closer to zero-hour of Doomsday Clock”.
The music video for the single was produced entirely with the help of Ukrainian videographers and the intention of the track is to “raise awareness for the humanitarian crisis happening in Ukraine”.
